B-MOVIE OF THE MONTH - GULAG (TV 1985)

This month B-Movie Gazette dives into the prison genre and who doesn't like a good prison flick? Gulag is an extremely well-produced TV movie originally made for HBO before wandering out to obscurity-land. David Keith is in top form as a sportscaster and while covering an event in Moscow is framed by the KGB. Unable to prove his innocence a prison escape is now inevitable, just how will he do it? Malcolm McDowell co-stars, this is a good one folks! 2.75 stars/2.75

TILDA SWINTON IS "JULIA" (2008) - AN OUT OF CONTROL ALCOHOLIC WHO KIDNAPS A LITTLE BOY FOR RANSOM

Tilda Swinton absolutely kills it in the titular role of "Julia." A co-production between France, United States, Mexico and Belgium, it debuted at the Berlin Film Festival and did well with European critics. It's an unbashful and in-your-face film wonderfully directed by French filmmaker Erick Zonka, more known for his award-winning The Dreamlife Of Angels.

An astounding performance here by the great Tilda Swinton, a film that's not for the weak of heart. For visitors of this blog, an absolute must-see. Currently on Amazon Prime or VOD.  4.0 stars/5
