"MEGALOPOLIS" (2024) IS GOING ON TOUR THIS SUMMER (forget the rolling stones) + PREVIEW OF 14tH ANNUAL PICK-FIVE SUMMER MOVIES (tonight's dispatch from the 86th floor)

Greetings All - Francis Ford Coppola has announced an official summer tour of his movie-mega-flop-or-is-it Megalopolis. According to him, at this point, he wants no one to own the film. The legendary director will screen his piece in six US cities, the furthest west being San Francisco. Each screening will be followed by a crowd group conversation about the future moderated by Francis.

He's calling these conversations "How To Change Our Future" and it kind of reminds me a little of Ian Anderson's "Rubbing Elbows" tour in 2002 where he would do Jethro Tull songs with each song followed by a Q and A. It's certainly thinking outside of the box kind of stuff, I hope it does better for Coppola than it did Anderson.

You can read more about it and see the tour dates for the six Megalopolis performances here.
